president barack obama took to the stage with the speech filled with hope and opt chris many. far cry for dark outlook of america painted by donald trump just about a week earlier. instead president says america is already great and already strong. then he and vice-presidential candidate tim kaine both tore into trump. president criticized trump's record in business in what he calls a lack of experience saying trump is unprepared for a job and would be a military disaster. the president continued saying that the billion air businessman is betting fear will bring enough people to the polls to secure the presidency for the republicans >> the reason he will lose it is because he is selling the american people short we're not a fragile people. we're not a frightful people. our power doesn't come from self declared savior promising

south philadelphia this morning, jan carabao for cbs-3 "eyewitness news" jim and brooke back to you. well after midnight when president obama left philadelphia on air force one. we're told there was a slight scare during the flight back to washington. a sudden jolt of what felt like turbulence left passengers scrambling for their seats. plane landed just after 1:00 a.m. at joint base andrews without further incident. after president obama's speech first lady michelle obama said that is my man, your truth, dignity and grace remind us what reallieder ship looks like. i'm always proud of our potus, sign mo. before the president addressed the nation it was a chaotic scene right outside wells fargo center. >> self protesters were arrested after break go through a security gate. "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch is live where police will be ready for later today. good morning, justin. >> reporter: good morning. seven people are in federal custody for trying to breach a

secret service fence in what was a third day of dnc demonstrations sweeping from city hall to here at fdr park. looking at video from overnight just before 11:00 p.m. wednesday philadelphia police placing seven people under a rest. they are accused of breaching a perimeter fence at the a secret service security zone by wells fargo center. hours before about 9:00 p.m. outside the well some 35 protesters were also taken in custody. officials say that crowd refused police orders to stop blocking a convention exit area for delegates. just before noon some ten demonstrators making their way inside the comcast center to hold a sit into use plastic ties, protesting media coverage of the campaign. they were detain, ticketed and released, and nearby for some six hours reports of the demonstrators rallying outside city hall. we have reports of one police officer suffering minor injuries in responding to the scene here in south philadelphia. amid protests here a woman

threat, notice off to the south that we will see a slight risk, that is on the list of the five categories of severe weather potential is number two, from number one to five, five being the highest threat, it will be a generally le risk but regardless downpours are a given but it is just who gets it because it will be scattered variety of showers and storms within these thunderstorms it could not only be downpours but gusty wind and hail. we are starting to get used to this now that we're well in the summertime but lets talk about the flood threat in more details. we could be looking at up to two plus inches out of this if you have poor drainage out there, those trains can just get overwhelmed, very, very quickly and that will easily slow you down. if you get stuck where you see flooded roadway, please just turnaround, and find a different way to go, we will say it all the time, even six inches of water can actually swipe your vehicle alloway. doesn't take much. please be careful in this. right now quiet at least.
